Finally I’m feeling settled in and ready for a few blogs, after last month’s unfortunate incident of loss of my close family member. Nothing can replace the loss, but life has to move on, that’s will of All Mighty Allah. Thanks for all those condolence messages you have sent. I’m overwhelmed by all your love and support.
Yet again I’m blogging about Google, I have got few feedback that I’m always promoting google. No, I’m not commissioned by Google. It’s very hard to ignore the contribution of Google in Digital Marketing that we bloggers tend to write more often.
Poor marketing strategies have killed several business worldwide, now with digital marketing overtaking traditional marketing, there is no room for error. On the other hand a qualified digital marketing experts are way too expensive to hire.
A recent study suggest in 2015 traditional marketing had fallen nearly 180%, while in the same time frame expenses for digital marketing have increased over 75%. The world of digital marketing will continue to evolve and as the technology advances, digital marketing will evolve.
With the change and evolution of modern technologies, brick-and-mortar businesses are either changing their business models to an online one, or beefing up existing marketing efforts with digital marketing strategies – in an attempt to capture a growing and very lucrative online marketplace. It could be very fair to say that any business that does not adapt to digital marketing is in danger of losing out.
Digital Marketing is not easy, it needs persons with the skills and knowledge to lead the digital campaigns, many people believe that by engaging in social media they are doing digital marketing, but they fail to understand that social media is just one of the component of digital marketing. To address all these issues and decrease the skills gap between online marketing veterans and those just entering bandwagon, Google launched Google Primer.
What is Google Primer?
Google Explains in the app website, that when people succeed, Google succeeds. At our best, we help businesses of all sizes try new things and get more customers. But we also know it’s hard to get the knowledge you need to do innovative marketing. So we assembled a small team of our own marketers and challenged them to build a product they would use. The result is Primer.
With Primer, it will be easy to learn new digital marketing skills. Primer gives you bite-sized lessons to do whenever you have 5 minutes free. The interactive activities will help you learn concepts quickly. Each lesson contains theory slides that users can swipe through, case studies demonstrating the topic, as well as an interactive quiz and a practice section, where users can test their new skills. Plus, the entire curriculum is available offline, so you can power through a lesson or two anytime, anywhere.
To do this, Google has teamed with “industry experts” to create case studies, tips and interactive quizzes that walk the user through the basics of how to use various digital tools to connect with customers. Currently, four topics – Content, Advertising, Measurement, and Strategy — are covered; Google promises that more will come in the future.
It’s time that marketing managers and business owners out there, download this app (both Android and iOS are available) and in no time you will be mastering the digital marketing jargon. As usual, if you need free tips, suggestions, help or support, please feel free to contact me, [email protected] (UAE Residents Only) and I will be happy to share my expertise with you.
