The change aimed to lower the rank of “low-quality sites” or “thin sites”, and return higher-quality sites near the top of the search results. The name “Panda” comes from Google engineer Navneet Panda, who developed the technology that made it possible for Google to create and implement the algorithm.Source: Wikipedia

Delete or Improve Your Low Quality Pages:
You are aware that google’s main objective now is to help users find quality content. It’s time to delete or modify your low quality content. And to invest to develop high quality content which panda and the audience will like.
Are you confused what constitutes low quality content? Visit your analytical tools and monitor the below metrics, which will guide you determine your content’s worth. (Advise you to use SEO Power Tools, they offer free version too)
View the number of page views over a point of time.
Analyze time spent on these pages.
Check your website’s bounce rate.
Check the social foot-prints of these pages and your website.
And also look at deleting all auto generated content, these contents do more hurt than good to the site.
Additionally, mark off your high paginated (comments) content and add “No Index, follow” also Tag paginated content with “rel=prev” and “rel=next” to indicate documents in a succession.
When you improve the quality of the content make sure to thicken all the thin contents as google panda doesn’t like thin contents.
Use TAG Smartly and Monitor Regularly:
We are all culprits of adding many tag pages as a means to add some internal links. This causes some serious issues when you have many tags with just one article. Spend some time to revisit your tags and reduce it. By the way TAGS are not keywords. 🙂
Delete Duplicate Content and Create Unique Contents:
Earlier duplicate content used to hurt few pages within the site, not any longer, nowadays it will sink your entire site. Use SEO Power Tool or Screaming Frog application to analyze your duplicate contents. Google wants your content to add value and not simply repeat what’s already been said, and also google wants to stop plagiarism. And if you are using syndicate contents or sharing content from guest bloggers on your site, be sure to refer the source or references.
Glad google has got hold of this strict step to root out piracy, with the latest panda release now original content creators will be protected and encouraged.
Get Rid of Duplicate Meta Descriptions:
This is the issue when using a CMS so be careful to analyze and delete all the duplicate meta descriptions. Several poorly developed site has meta description hard coded into the template, it’s time to get rid such practices as Panda doesn’t like this any longer. and your whole site will be penalized.
And some other tips to consider are:
Avoid tons of advertisement on a page, Google allows a maximum limit of 3 ads in a page, in the bargain of making money don’t add too many ads on a page.
Make certain your web site template has lots of clean space and roomy layout.
Improve your page loading, Google has commenced to take page loading speed into consideration while ranking web pages. If your website loads slow, then you have a serious problem.
Be Social: Yeah, you heard it right, Google has clearly stated that they use a webpage’s social presence to decide its importance.
Check your user experience metrics.
Check for grammar or spelling mistakes.
Keep keyword density in check.
Create link worth contents.
Content that engages and educates is always highly valued in both the eyes of Panda and your audience.
